The French will not leave Malaga empty-handed. Thanks to their victory in the mixed doubles semi-final,  Nathan Courrin  et  Louise Bahurel  qualified for the final of the first World University Padel Championships. A few hours earlier,  Louise Bahurel  et  Clara Mansart  had seen their superb run come to an end against the overwhelming favorites, Spain. Meanwhile, the other French players made a perfect start to their placement matches.

Courrin and Bahurel confirm their status

The number 1 seeds in the mixed tournament, Nathan Courrin and Louise Bahurel, once again delivered.

Opposed to the Spanish  Alvaro Alone  et  Valeria Atencia The French, seeded No. 3, won with authority.  6 / 2 6 / 4  to secure their ticket to the final.

They will now have the opportunity to go for the first world university title in history in this discipline.

Bahurel and Mansart fall to the favorites

A few hours earlier, Louise Bahurel was already on the track alongside Clara Mansart, attempting to pull off an upset in the semi-final of the women's draw.

Facing the Spanish  Laura Lujan  (44th in the world) and  Agueda Perez  (40th in the world), top seeds, the French women put up a good fight in the first set before losing.  7 / 5 6 / 1 .

Despite this defeat, the performance of the two French players remains very encouraging, with a semi-final achieved in a particularly challenging draw.

The French athletes involved in the ranking tables also achieved some excellent results.

In the men's table,  Nathan Courrin  et  Eliot Deknuydt  dominated the Swiss  Till Brunner  et  Philip Gabriel Orloff  in two runs  6 / 3 7 / 5 , continuing their journey towards the top spots.

Same scenario in mixed form, where  Clara Mansart  et  Eliot Deknuydt  prevailed against the Ukrainians  Tetyana Dychka  et  Bohdan Levchuk  on the score of  7 / 6 6 / 3 , also remaining in contention for fifth place.

With a final to be played on Saturday thanks to Nathan Courrin and Louise Bahurel, the French delegation is now guaranteed to leave Malaga with at least one medal, a fine reward for this first edition of the World University Padel Championships.
