The development of padel near Nantes will take a new step with the announced creation of a complex at VertouThis project, evaluated at 6,5 million, provides for the installation of nine padel courts, a restaurant and spaces dedicated to businesses, in a context of strong demand for this rapidly growing discipline.

A large-scale project dedicated to padel is being prepared in Vertou, south of the Nantes metropolitan area.

The project originated from a land opportunity made possible by a recent change in the local urban development plan. Previously incompatible with this type of leisure facility, the land could be used as soon as the regulations changed in early 2025. The selected plot covers more than 8 000 m², for a building of approximately 3 800 m²(According to the Journal des Entreprises)

A collaborative project with complementary skills

The structure is based on a dual approach: investors committed to real estate and others involved in operating the site. Around Cédrik Kerdilès, at the initiative of the project, and of Jean-Charles VerdalleThe group of investors, who will be responsible for leading the future complex, includes profiles from the restaurant, events, digital, real estate and corporate sectors.

This diversity of expertise constitutes one of the pillars of the project, conceived from the outset as a place for multiple uses, beyond simple sports facilities.

Nine padel courts, including a central court dedicated to competitions.

The heart of the site will consist of nine padel courtswith a central pitch designed to host national-level competitions, equipped with stands and direct visibility from the catering area. The aim is to meet an identified need in the Nantes area, where the current supply is considered insufficient to meet the demand.

The complex will also include a padel academy, as well as complementary activities currently being defined, focusing on well-being or indoor sports.

Catering, seminars and business club

The non-sporting aspect plays a central role in the project. A restaurant, entrusted to a recognized professional in the sector, will aim for a capacity of 100 to 150 meals per dayUpstairs, several seminar rooms will be available to host business meetings, private events and professional gatherings.

Un business club is also being studied, with the aim of creating bridges between sport, economic network and inter-company events.

A balanced economic model and planned recruitment

The business model is based on a balanced distribution of revenue between the padel activity and the restaurant/seminar facilities. Ultimately, the site aims for a annual turnover of approximately 1,5 million euros, with a gradual increase in power.

Between 10 and 12 jobs should be created at the opening, including in particular a coach dedicated to the sporting side.

The name of the future complex has not yet been decided and should be revealed in early 2026. Until then, the project's promoters are finalizing the last adjustments, convinced that the development of padel in the Nantes region is still only in an intermediate phase.
