The main draw of the P1 in Tarragona started strongly , with suspenseful matches, decisive tie-breaks... and a  Miguel Lamperti  who has once again proven that he has the fire in his veins at the age of 46.

The pair  Lamperti / Del Castillo  qualified after a thriller against the wild cards  Tonet Sans and Marc Quílez , in a match full of twists and turns that ended with a score of  6/3 3/6 7/6(7) . At 7/7 in the decisive tie-break of the third set,  The whimsical Argentinian pulled off a magnificent shot , a retro counter smash into the net. A masterclass in composure and showmanship, as only Lamperti knows how.

They will face in the next round  Maxi Sánchez and Xisco Gil .

  •  Rama Valenzuela / Fede Mouriño  came back from a set down to beat  Hernandez / Collado  : 2/6 7/5 7/5. They will find  Di Nenno / Augsburger  in 16st.

  • The most closely fought match of the day saw the victory of  Jose Rico / Arnau Ayats  at the end of the suspense against  Miguel and Nuno Deus  : 3/6 7/6(2) 7/6(6). They will face  Lebrón / Stupaczuk , with the return of the wolf after his injury.
