The 2025 season of A1 Padel starts in a month with a first tournament in Argentina, on March 3. After a year 2024 marked by the 11 titles by Tolito Aguirre and Gonza Alfonso , fans of the circuit prepare to discover new pairs while following the pairs who continue their adventure.
New projects to watch closely
Among the new features, we find Alvaro Sola et Matias Del Moral . The young Spaniard, who has already reached two quarter-finals last year, is teaming up with the Argentinian to try to make a leap in the rankings. Another project, that of Martin Abud et José Solano . Solano, former player of the circuit Premier Padel (61st in the world at his best), will bring his experience to the Paraguayan. This duo could well shake up the top seeds at the start of the season.
The Argentinian pair Santi Frugoni – Pablo Barrera also continues on its way after a good last quarter in 2024. With ups and downs, they have shown that they are capable of competing with the best, notably by beating Dal Bianco and Arce at the end of the season.
Pairs that continue together
Some people don't change a winning team, like Tolito Aguirre and Gonza Alfonso , who remain together after a historic season. With 11 titles and 14 finals in 16 tournaments , they are still favourites, but will have to manage the pressure of their status against competitors who now know them very well.
On their side, Maxi Arce and Franco Dal Bianco are looking to regain their throne after being dethroned in 2024. Despite an injury to Dal Bianco, the pair have proven they can still compete with the best, winning three titles and reaching seven finals. This season, their goal is simple: to become number 1 again.
Duos on the rise
Pereyra and De Pascual , after their victory at the Banco San Juan Open , want to gain consistency to establish themselves sustainably in the top 3. Another pair to follow: Aimar Goñi and Tito Allemandi . With two finals and a semi-final in just three tournaments, this duo combines the experience of the veteran Allemandi (44 years old) and the ambition of the young Goñi.
Finally Sanchez and Chiostri will have to prove that they can perform on outdoor courts after having shone indoors. Consistency will be their main challenge.
Uncertainties and possible surprises
Some pairs still remain unclear. This is particularly the case for Britos and Melgratti , who have not yet announced their plans for 2025. On the other hand, pairs like Rolla / Lopez et Yob / Martinez finished 2024 on a high note and will seek to capitalize on this momentum to establish themselves permanently in the advanced rounds.
I discovered padel directly during a tournament, and frankly, I didn't really like it at first. But the second time, it was love at first sight, and since then, I haven't missed a single match. I'm even ready to stay up until 3am to watch a final of Premier Padel !
