Padel continues to attract an ever-younger audience in France. In Bordeaux, a unique project led by a high school student passionate about events and sports aims to accelerate this trend: Academic Padel Cup , the first tournament of inter-high school padel organized in France.
Created by Raphaël Gobert, this competition had a remarkable first edition on May 10, 2025 at Padel Pinsan Club. The event brought together many young players who came to represent their schools in a friendly and competitive atmosphere.
A more ambitious second edition
Building on the success of the first edition, the Academic Padel Cup will return on May 25, 2025 with an expanded format. In total, nearly 80 players will participate in both dates of the tournament, bringing together several of the best high school teams from Bordeaux and its region.
Beyond the sporting competition, the organizers aim to offer a genuine padel experience with:
- another refreshment bar and a food service area,
- of the animations for the public
- another tombola with many lots,
- as well as the support of several partners from the world of sport and padel.
The stated objective is clear: to make padel more accessible to younger generations while creating a student and high school event capable, in the long term, of developing on a national scale.

A project led by the new generation
Just a few years after the explosion of padel in France, this type of initiative illustrates the growing interest of young people in this sport. With the Academic Padel Cup, Raphaël Gobert wants to structure an event combining competition, conviviality and team spirit, while giving more visibility to padel in schools.
The next edition will take place on May 25, 2025 at Padel Pinsan Club.
The event can also be followed on Instagram via the official account: @academic.padel.cup.
