2022: A successful launch
The first edition of Major of Padel à Roland Garros in 2022 marked a historic turning point for this sport in France. It was the first time that a tournament of paddle was held in the legendary venue of world tennis. The bet was risky, but the craze was immediate. More than 25 000 spectators traveled throughout the week to attend the matches, despite the schedule being in the middle of summer.
2023: Spectacular growth
Building on the success of 2022, the Greenweez Paris Major attracted even more people in 2023. The event saw a significant increase of attendance, exceeding the 35 000 spectatorsThis time scheduled in September, the show, the good organization and the quality of the facilities convinced many curious people to come back for this second edition, attracting new fans of the paddle.
2024: Record attendance
This year, the tournament reached a major milestone, almost doubling its attendance compared to the previous year. More than 64 000 spectators gathered throughout the week, including many celebrities such as vitinha, player of PSG, or even the American star Eva LongoriaThe climax was reached in the finals, with a short Philippe-Chatrier full, welcoming 13 000 spectators to witness two superb victories.
- In the women's category, the world number ones, Ariana Sánchez et Paula Josemaría, triumphed against the pair Andrea Ustero/Delfi Brea.
- In the men's category, it is also the world number one pair, Agustín Tapia et Arturo Coello, which has imposed itself.
This week exceeded all expectations, smashing the initial goal of 50 000 spectators, and marking a real success for the paddle à Roland Garros.
