It’s a What a dramatic turn of events in A1 Padel. While they are the undisputed number 1s on the circuit, Tolito Aguirre and Gonzalo Alfonso have decided not to not participate in the first tournament of the year, the Tucumán Open from February 28 to March 9, and opted instead for… a tournament FIP Platinum in Puebla.

And that's not all! Tolito, for his part, continues on the FIP circuit, since it is registered the following week at P2 in Cancun with the Belgian Clément Geens. Now, at that moment, another A1 tournament Padel will take place in Cordoba, Argentina.

So, What is going on ? Tolito and Alfonso would they like to send a message to A1 Padel and to Fabrice Pastor ?
A simple test or a real turnaround?
When the number 1 of a circuit decides to snub its first deadlines, there is necessarily something to read between the lines. For several weeks, the A1 circuit Padel is undergoing a major transformation, notably with a wave of arrival of players from Premier Padel.
But while players from the FIP circuit sign commitments of two years with A1 Padel, Tolito and Alfonso look away. Do they have disagreements with the circuit management? Are they looking to test their level on a circuit more recognized by the FIP? Or do they simply want to broaden their opportunities?
What is certain is that Their absence from the Tucumán Open is a strong signal, and their registration in FIP is even more so.
A transition to Premier Padel ?
It is still too early to talking about a total exile to the FIP and Premier Padel, but one thing is certain: The choice of Tolito and Alfonso does not go unnoticed.
It remains to be seen how will react A1 Padel. One thing is certain: Tolito Aguirre and Gonzalo Alfonso have just launched a message…and everyone will be scrutinizing their next decisions.

I discovered padel directly during a tournament, and frankly, I didn't really like it at first. But the second time, it was love at first sight, and since then, I haven't missed a single match. I'm even ready to stay up until 3am to watch a final of Premier Padel !
