Momo Gonzalez et Alex Ruiz are back in the final of a tournament, after their victory, in painFacing Fernando Belasteguin et Juan Tello. A meeting in three sets which could have gone one way or the other…

After this meeting, Alex Ruix and Momo Gonzalez returned to their match on the microphone of Padel Magazine.

Hot reactions

Momo: "The first reaction is that we are very tired. It was a very long match, but I am very happy, very moved. From the start we knew it was going to be a very difficult match because we had two great players in front of us. We went through some really tough times, we fought as a team and we always believed in victory. I'm really happy to be able to spend one more day in Bordeaux and I hope that we can finish this tournament in the best possible way tomorrow."

Alex: "It was a very physical part, the track is fast. We had a pair in front of us who gave us no respite. But we always managed to believe in ourselves, even when things didn't go the way we wanted. In the second set, we endured their comeback and, in the third, we resumed the battle, we fought and we had a good end to the match... except at the end, where I messed up a little. Momo was able to help me. Tomorrow, a new big battle awaits us and we are going to give it our all."

Bela's injury

Alex: "We continued to play our game. I think you shouldn't think about it when that happens. Bela has many years of experience, he has already played thousands of times injured or with contractures. As we could see, he held on until the end and we knew it was going to be the case. So, we didn't change anything, kept the same dynamic and in the end, it worked out in our favor."

The return to the final

Momo: "Lots of emotions to be in the final again. We worked a lot, already individually when we were no longer playing together, then collectively when we got back together. All the work finally paid off. We came close to the last rounds, made a lot of quarter-finals that we didn't win. So to be here, to finally be able to fight in the semi-final and reach the final after so long, it's a joy and hopefully we can continue to fight like this tomorrow."

Alex: "Tomorrow, whether we win or lose, we will return home happy. Hopefully tomorrow we will win. In any case, we will give everything we have but if we give ourselves the means, we have our chances of winning.”

It was his brother who one day told him to accompany him on a track. padel, since then, Gwenaëlle has never left the court. Except when it comes to going to watch the broadcast of Padel Magazine, World Padel Tour… or Premier Padel…or the French Championships. In short, she is a fan of this sport.
