The two players suffered in Milan a new disappointment from the first round, facing the Spanish Lucia Sainz et Patty Llaguno, old circuit references.
Despite a more closely fought match than their previous encounter in Rotterdam, Collombon and Martínez lost 6/3 7/5, unable to capitalize on their opportunities in key moments.

The figures sum up the scenario well: 38 unforced errors for the Franco-Spanish pair against 26 for their opponents, and no break point converted (0/3), when Sainz and Llaguno were able to seize 2 out of 9 opportunities.
A lack of realism that cost dearly, despite a hard-fought second set where the Collombon/Martínez pair found more rhythm and confidence.

In a long and sincere message, the Spaniard looked back on their shared journey and the bond that bound them:

“A lot of emotions today in Milan… I wish our last tournament had ended differently. Alix, we worked hard and progressed together during this period. There was always a great understanding, on and off the field. We went through some difficult times, but also experienced a lot of happiness in the process. Thank you for helping me grow as a player and as a person. I only take away positive things from everything we shared.”

A busy season and visible progress

Throughout the 2025 season, Collombon and Martinez showed a solid level of play on the circuit Premier Padel and achieving good runs on the FIP Tour.
Their complementarity – the power and coverage of Alix Collombon on the right, the hand game and precision of Araceli Martínez on the left – had allowed the Frenchwoman to maintain a position in the world top 30, while the Spanish signed the best season of his career.

But faced with increasingly even competition and a very dense calendar, the results of recent weeks have undoubtedly weighed on the thinking.

Two now distinct trajectories

For the rest, Alix Collombon will not remain long without a partner: she will be associated with Jessica Ginier, her friend and fellow Lyonnaise, from the FIP Platinum of Lyon, a home tournament that she will approach with the desire to bounce back.
