New page for  Alix Collombon . After his separation from  Araceli Martínez , the Frenchwoman will be part of the team  Newgiza P2  with  Jana Montes , young Spanish player of  18 years  only, currently  60th in the world An unexpected but promising association, which symbolizes a risk taken by the Lyonnaise.

A bet on youth

Jana Montes is part of this new rising Spanish generation. Last week, she reached  his second round of 16  on the circuit Premier Padelin  Rotterdam , alongside Patricia Martinez Fortun. Together, the two players had already obtained several  good results  on tournaments  FIP  and many  round of XNUMX  on the first padel circuit.

A bold choice for Collombon

By allying with Montes,  Alix Collombon  is betting on potential rather than experience. A decision that contrasts with its former association with  Araceli Martínez ,  26th in the world , and with whom she formed a regular pair of the Top 13 seeds.
This time, the Frenchwoman  will start as the 16th seed  au  Newgiza P2 , a less comfortable position.

Tournament association… or future project?

It remains to be seen whether this union between Collombon and Montes will last or whether it will be just a  one-off experience . The  Newgiza P2  could well serve as  litmus test  to gauge the compatibility of the duo.
The Frenchwoman, looking for a boost after a few complicated weeks, is no doubt hoping to find in this young partner a  new dynamic .

I discovered padel directly during a tournament, and frankly, I didn't really like it at first. But the second time, it was love at first sight, and since then, I haven't missed a single match. I'm even ready to stay up until 3am to watch a final of Premier Padel !
