APT Canarias Open: a boiling Wednesday ends!

Here are the latest results of the 1/16th finals played on the center of the Activate Sport Club of Adeje. As you will see, there were some very big matches!

The Canarians Gil and Jofre will be good in the 2nd round

We can say that they hung on to the end in this part! Led 6/4 and broken 3 times in the second set, the pair Gil/Jofre will indeed be in the 1/8th finals tomorrow thanks to the support of the public and his very large family who came today. The Spaniards win 3/6 7/6 6/2 against Valenzuela / Castañeyra.

A "partidazo" for Gutiérrez / Pascoal

Aggressive and powerful, Meijer and Ruiz take the lead in the game and lead 6/4 4/3 with the break in their pocket.

Unfortunately for them, Cristian Gutierrez should never be buried! His 44 years on the clock are as much experience of the hot moments of a game and with his partner Vasco Pascoal they end up winning 4/6 6/4 7/5 at the end of the suspense.

We hope they will have recovered well from this big battle before facing the seeded 5 who qualified without playing, Dominguez/Britos.

Gonzalez/Puppo at the end of the night

The long wait before returning to the track did not weigh down Aday Santana's legs. The former world top 10 and his partner Victor Saenz made short work of their opponents Gonzalez / Puppo in the first set won 6/1.

Completely different scenario in the second round with a big battle and points that last longer and longer. Gonzalez / Puppo picks up the score: 7/6. The match is endless, interspersed with interventions from the physiotherapist but at 00:25 Gonzalez/Puppo eliminates the Canarians with the final score of 1/6 7/6 7/5.
