It's official: we now know the new partner of Araceli Martínez , former teammate of Alix Collombon The Spanish will team up with  Carolina orsi , ranked Italian player  29th in the world .

Originally from Rome,  Orsi  is a player  left-handed  to style  powerful  et  explosive , capable of real brilliance. On the other hand, she sometimes needs a clear framework to channel her game and avoid rushing.

A profile with high potential but still inconsistent

Carolina Orsi reached in  2024  his best ranking, a  24th place in the world . An interesting course, but she shares with  Alix Collombon  the same difficulty: that of  break through the world top 20 barrier , still out of reach for the moment.

The choice of  Martínez  is therefore not without risk. Moving from  Colombon  à  Orsi  is a bold bet: on paper, the Italian displays a  slightly lower ranking  to that of the Frenchwoman. Let us remember that Alix herself had reached the  20th place in the world , a symbolic rank even if it did not retain it for long.

A solid track record for Orsi

Carolina orsi  remains an experienced player, who has notably reached the  Madrid P1 quarter-finals  last August. It also has  three FIP Silver titles , including a victory at  Narbonne The Italian therefore has the weapons to surprise and perform at a high level.

It remains to be seen whether the association between  Orsi  et  Martínez , two players with sometimes erratic temperaments, will be an asset... or a weakness. The two profiles seem similar, and only time will tell if this alchemy will bear fruit.

And what about Alix Collombon?

For its part,  Alix Collombon  will return to competition at  FIP Platinum of Lyon , where it will be associated with  Jessica Ginier A 100% French duo who will be keen to create a  feat in front of his home crowd .
