The image had marked the spectators of Bordeaux Premier Padel P2:  Ariana Sánchez , in tears after a quick defeat in the quarter-final against Jensen / Alonso, visibly diminished, unable to defend his chances as usual.  The Spanish player spoke  on Instagram to explain what really happened.

Discomfort that occurred during training

In a story published to his followers, Ari Sánchez confided:
 "On Wednesday during training, I felt some discomfort in my leg. I wanted to try until the end, but I was very limited." 

Before concluding :
 "Now it's time to recover. See you in Malaga."

No precise diagnosis... but a real concern

While Ariana Sánchez describes the pain as "discomfort," no specific diagnosis has yet been provided by her team. The exact location of the pain, its nature (muscular? tendon?), or its severity remain unknown.

The  tears at the end of the match  take on another meaning today: they perhaps translated  both nervousness and fear of seeing the condition worsen We had already seen the world number 1 bury her head in the towel at the end of the first set, staring into space, while a member of the medical staff discreetly questioned her.

Malaga in 10 days: the time trial has begun

The circuit Premier Padel is competing at a sustained pace. After a  trying week in Valladolid , played in temperatures of almost 40°C and marked by the injury of Delfi Brea, it is Ari Sánchez's turn to suffer the physical consequences.

Luckily for her, the  Malaga's P1 doesn't start for another ten days , which leaves  a significant period of rest and care , even if caution remains required.

An increasingly physically demanding season

This new episode illustrates once again how  the 2025 calendar is demanding , especially for the world's top players. In just a few weeks, several major physical alerts have been recorded: Paula Josemaría in May, Delfi Brea in Valladolid, and now Ari Sánchez; and we're not even talking about the recurring injuries of Bea Gonzalez...
