The world number 1, Arturo Coello, takes on the role of mentor to two young Spanish hopefuls, Curro Cabeza et Diego Garcia, who created a surprise by winning the Gijón P2 last February.
The sensation of Gijón
Why this support for this promising pair, who made their mark on the Gijon P2 by winning to everyone's surprise? During this stage of the circuit Premier Padel, although deprived of the best players in the world, the two young Spaniards knew how to shine by beating the Argentinian favorites in the final Tolito Aguirre et Gonzalo AlfonsoAn unexpected victory which allowed them to reveal themselves on the international scene.
A family bond
Francisco “Curro” Cabeza, aged 17 and ranked 62nd in the world, is the brother of Maica Cabeza, companion ofArturo Coello. He evolves alongside Diego Garcia, 18 years old, 70th in the world. The family bond between Curro Head and the life partner of the world number 1 partly explains this closeness.
In the last episode of his YouTube series Off Court, shot during the tournament Miami P1, we see Curro Head et Diego Garcia train with Coello et Wall, then share a meal in the company ofArthur and his brother Rodrigo CoelloA privileged environment for the two young players, who thus benefit from the advice and company of the best in the world, both on and off the field.
A close relationship with Curro Cabeza
After a training match at the Reserve Padel from Miami between pairs Tapia / Coello et Garcia / Head, Coello joke with Wayne boich, founder of the club, about Curro Head:
“This guy is the brother of Maica, and he's with me all day. But if he ever beats us, he'll tease us non-stop! We can't afford that... Come on, 6/0! (laughs)”
The complicity between Curro Head et Arthur Coello is evident, especially in the post-match debrief captured in the latest video of Coello :
“We trained with currito et Diego, and they played really well. They have an impressive pace for their age, it's crazy. Plus, they push me to stay on top, especially Curro, because if I don't beat him now while I still can, he'll be teasing me all day at home!”
A coaching role in Doha?
When for his Qatar Major, Arturo Coello was seen in the stands, then on the bench, to support Head et García during their first round.

Without an official coach, the two young Spaniards were able to benefit from the advice ofArthur Coello and be supported during the changes of ends. Despite this, they lost 6/2 6/4 to the pair Arnau Ayats / Pablo García Rodrigo.
