It was a very high-level match that concluded the women's P2 draw in Asunción. For more than three hours, the spectators at the Ueno SND Arena witnessed a thrilling final between the top seeds 2, Gemma Triay / Delfi Brea, and the young pair Bea González / Claudia Fernández, seeded 3, who sign their first victory together on the circuit Premier Padel.
A one-way start… then the awakening
From the start, Gemma and Delfi impose their rhythm. Sharp, precise, they quickly lead 4/1 with a double break. Opposite, Claudia and Bea struggle to get into the game. But like the day before in the semi-final against Josemaría / Sánchez, they step up their game. Claudia is more incisive, Bea is hurting with her attacks in transition, and the duo continues five games in a row to catch up and push their opponents into a tie-break.
Triay and Brea take the lead in the tie with a Radiant Delfi (5-2), but González raises his voice: five consecutive points, a reverse tie-break 7/5, and a first round in the bag for the outsiders.
Triay and Brea Reconnect… Then Fade Out
In the second set, Triay and Brea found their game again. More solid from the start, they broke early and took advantage of the opportunities missed by their opponents to win 6/3, despite a lot of pressure imposed by Bea, still as solid in defense and brilliant in the net game.
But the third act will switch unexpectedly.
A final demonstration by Fernández / González
After a long break between sets, González and Fernandez return to the court with a clear ambition : go get this title. Opposite, Triay and Brea seem extinguished, and make numerous errors. Delfi completely misses this round, while Claudia plays her game without making a single unforced error.
6/2 in the deciding set, a clear and conclusive score. 57 unforced errors for Triay / Brea in the match against 47 for González / FernándezAnd above all, a mental, technical and tactical demonstration from the two young players.

First title and a strong message sent
This title is symbolic: it marks the first victory en Premier Padel of a pair other than Josemaría / Sánchez or Brea / Triay this season. A breath of fresh air, which completely relaunches the race to the top of world women's padel.
Claudia and Bea, who had to separate from Triay and Brea at the beginning of the year against their will, have just proven that their new association can aim for number 1With this level of play, this complementarity between the defensive consistency of Fernández and the power of González, there is no doubt that we will now have to count on them in all the major events of 2025.

I discovered padel directly during a tournament, and frankly, I didn't really like it at first. But the second time, it was love at first sight, and since then, I haven't missed a single match. I'm even ready to stay up until 3am to watch a final of Premier Padel !
