First feeling of the day at the Assumption Premier Padel P2 : the number 4 seed falls in the round of XNUMX.
Victor Ruiz (36e) and Francisco Manuel Gil (41st) won in three sets: 3/6 6/3 6/4 against the world's 4th pair, mike yanguas (7e) and Coki Nieto (9th), at the end of a 2h08 match.
The first set logically came back to Yanguas / Nieto , more solid from the start. But the dynamic was reversed in the second round: Ruiz / Gil took their opponents' serve from the start of the set. Despite opportunities to come back for Yanguas / Nieto , the second round remained in the hands of Ruiz / Gil .
The third set, more balanced, was decided on a few key points. Ruiz / Gil managed to break at the decisive moment and then held their serve to conclude the match.

This is the first elimination at this stage of the competition for the pair. Yanguas / Nieto , who had reached the semi-finals in their first four tournaments together this season, before stopping in the quarter-finals in Brussels. This time, the Spaniards lacked efficiency on break points: only 17% converted, compared to 67% for Ruiz / Gil , more realistic in important moments.
Victor Ruiz et Francisco Manuel Gil will face the number 6 seed in the quarter-finals, Juan Tello et Martín Di Nenno .
A big sports enthusiast and former tennis player, I discovered padel a few years ago without really focusing on it. Then I became addicted to this sport by practicing it and watching the premier padel matches. Looking forward to sharing the 2025 news with you!
