The men's tournament this weekend at the club des Tops of Nîmes ended with the victory of Justin Lopes and François Authier. A good performance in P1000 before the huge tournament that awaits every day at P2000 des Pyramides in the Paris region.

An ancestral pair that takes the hand!

An ancestral pair that continues to hurt on the slopes. The level was raised and the two Lyon players could have stopped in the semi-finals against one of the great French pairs Ferrandez / Gourre capable of anything. But the level of Les Lyonnais has been consistently impressive in all areas. A steel mind and an impressive consistency.

In the third set, Ferrandez / Gourre led 3/5, in a game that would lead them to a dream final, but Authier / Lopes nevertheless managed to come back and win 2/7 in the deciding set.

At the club padel des Hauts de Nîmes took place this weekend a P1000 men where 40 pairs competed. We found, as always, a great field of players, with pairs from far away.

During this tournament weekend which will have started on Saturday morning, we will remember the exemplary organization of this club in the south of France.

Sunday were played the final stages and we saw the pair in the form of the moment, Justin Lopes and François Authier, leave with the title, against Maxime Moreau and Jean-Thomas Peyrou, on the score of 6 / 2 7 / 5.

Moreau / Peyrou to watch closely

Moreau / Peyrou is not yet used to playing together although the pair promise to be even more competitive than they are today. For observers: “Indoors, the Moreau / Peyrou pair could be even stronger. The slower the game, the stronger they will be".

We especially hope that Max Moreau will find consistency with his partner with, the Bordeaux resident JT Peyrou, nicknamed the metronome of padel. Will she be able to beat the very best French pairs? The future will tell.

Third place for Tom Mitjana and Thomas Brissaud who beats the dangerous Lyon pair Joulot / Morillon in 2 sets (7/5 6/2) and who does not go far in the semi-final to create the surprise since she will come out in 3 sets against Moreau / Peyrou.

A huge fight in this semi-final as well as Mitjana / Brissaud will lead 3/2 with the break before losing 6/3 the first set. In the second, the Moreau / Peyrou pair are joined to a set everywhere. In the 3rd set, Max Moreau released a game of “mutant” to break at 4/3 with in particular 2 exits on PAR 3 of Mitjana who remained speechless. Moreau's PAR 3 counter-smash is splendid and is especially worth gold because it allows to take the break and confirm behind to win the game.

Note the great form of Thomas Mitjana who goes on to a 3rd consecutive P1000 semi-final. He is clearly one of the strong men of the moment!
