The French Tennis Federation (FFT) has officially passed the milestone of 1 licensees in this 2024/2025 season, according to a report established on July 2, 2025. This figure already exceeds the results recorded at the end of the previous season (1), reflecting constant progress across all federated disciplines, including paddle, experiencing strong growth with its 100 padel licensees and 000 padel players including “multi-racket” players.
More than 250 FFT members play padel
Padel continues its progression in France with, for the first time, more than 100 licensees having opted for the padel licenseThis figure does not take into account FFT licensees known as “multi-racket”, who practice several disciplines: by including them, the FFT estimates that over 250 000 the number of licensees who regularly play padel. According to global estimates, more than 500 people play padel in France today.
A growth of almost 5% in licensees
At the general level, the FFT records a increase of 4,89% compared to the same period last year, and an increase of 10,85% over two years. The development of padel is part of this dynamic, alongside tennis, beach tennis and pickleball, the latter benefiting for the first time from a dedicated license, adopted by 1 players since the start of the 725 school year.
According to the FFT, the evolution of padel is partly explained by the actions undertaken around the modernization of clubs, the creation of new structures, and the development of a range of practices adapted to the expectations of players. The FFT also highlights the role of its 7 affiliated clubs, supported by more than 100 volunteers et 9 teachers, in this progression.
