Seeing Bastien Blanqué outside the top 200 in the world rankings would have seemed unthinkable just a few months ago. Yet, the reality of the rankings is clear: the Toulouse native has dropped out of the top 200, where he previously held the position.  119th place in the world  at the beginning of the year. In the space of six months, he thus lost  82 seats .

A dramatic drop for one of the most recognizable faces in French padel. The one who currently represents  Home Insurance Padel  had, however, reached the  104th world rank , with the top 100 more than ever in sight.

A very different season from the previous one

This decline is primarily due to disappointing results on the FIP Tour. In 2026, Bastien Blanqué still hasn't managed to reach a single final, across all categories.

His best result remains a  semi-final at FIP Bronze Rijswijk , in the Netherlands, plus two quarter-finals in FIP Bronze.

The contrast with the same period in 2025 is striking. During the first half of last year, the Frenchman had competed  four finals .  two titles More than a year has now passed since his last final on the FIP Tour, a drought which largely explains his fall in the world rankings.

Maxime Joris's bet

However, not everything is bad. Bastien Blanqué recently decided to embark on a new project with  Maxime Joris .

The Bordelais, former  155th in the world He too is familiar with the demands of top-level international football. A right-sided player capable of providing a great deal of stability, Joris possesses the qualities to support Blanqué in his quest for a quick return to the  world top 150 .

The partnership seems coherent on paper, even though, on the FIP Tour, building a sustainable project with a partner remains a real challenge. Between team changes, last-minute opportunities, and scheduling constraints, stability is often a luxury.

A paradoxical French ranking

Another interesting point: despite his drop in the world rankings, Bastien Blanqué remains  93th in the French ranking .

This ranking may seem surprising given his recent international results. This national ranking, which should be interpreted with caution, does not necessarily reflect the current dynamics of the FIP circuit. Nevertheless, it could serve as an additional source of motivation for a player who has never hidden his ambition to quickly return to the forefront.

Time for reconstruction

At 31, Bastien Blanqué has the experience and know-how to bounce back. But international competition has intensified, and every FIP tournament has become a battle where the slightest mistake is immediately punished in the rankings.

With Maxime Joris by his side, the Frenchman now hopes to regain consistency, return to finals, and stop this negative spiral. A return to the world's top 150 is a stated objective. Before, perhaps, setting his sights on the top 100, which seemed within reach not so long ago.
