The final of  P1500 MS Padel Vannes  It lived up to all its promises. And after a tough battle, they were ultimately the favorites.  Pierre Vincent / Damien Bayard  who prevail against  Tom Couturier / Simon Wagner  on the score of  6/3 6/7 6/3 .

An intense final where Wagner and Couturier once again displayed tremendous resilience, having already saved several match points in the previous rounds. But this time, it wasn't enough against a very solid number 1 seed who proved formidable in the crucial moments.

 Bayard and Vincent dominate the first set 

The start of the match quickly turned in favor of  Pierre-Vincent  et  Damien Bayard .

Very solid in their service games, they are the only ones to really create break opportunities in this first set.

They convert one of them and logically take the first set:  6/3  in only 2 minutes.

The main difference lies in the quality of gameplay offered by the TS1:

  • more winning shots
  • far fewer unforced errors
  • Damien Bayard is extremely aggressive on the right
  • and a very solid Pierre Vincent overhead

On the other side, Tom Couturier had a bit of a rough first set despite a very good performance from Simon Wagner.

 The turning point of the match in the second set 

The second set, however, seems to follow the same scenario.

Bayard and Vincent break quickly and find themselves in a position to serve for the match with a break advantage.

But it was at that moment that the match took a turn.

Tom Couturier and Simon Wagner get a break point… which they convert to completely revive the match.

The set then went to a tie-break.

And once again, Wagner and Couturier displayed tremendous mental strength. Trailing  4 - 0  In the decisive game, they completely turned the situation around to go and win the set.

Despite the  24 winning shots against 20  In favor of Bayard and Vincent, the number 1 seed falters a little in the money time of this second set.

After 45 minutes of play, Wagner and Couturier are back to one set apiece:  7/6 .

 The TS1 quickly regains control 

In the third set, Bayard and Vincent reacted immediately.

They break quickly and regain control of the match. As the match progresses, Wagner and Couturier begin to see a slight drop in the quality of their shots.

And on the other side, Bayard and Vincent remain extremely clean and surgical, especially on the par 3s, both in line and in cross-country.

The number 1 seed finally concluded:  6/3  in a final, controlled round.

 Bayard and Vincent regain control of the P1500 circuit 

With this title,  Pierre Vincent and Damien Bayard  resume their forward march on the P1500 circuit after a defeat at  P1500 Padel Campus Arena , where they were surprised in the quarter-finals by:  Arthaud Dumoulin / Tom Couturier ..

For their part, Wagner and Couturier delivered another outstanding tournament. After saving several match points in the quarter-finals and then five more in the semi-finals, they pushed the favorites to their limits once again.

But this time, the task was a little too difficult against a Bayard/Vincent pair who were very solid throughout the weekend.

I discovered padel directly during a tournament, and frankly, I didn't really like it at first. But the second time, it was love at first sight, and since then, I haven't missed a single match. I'm even ready to stay up until 3am to watch a final of Premier Padel !
