Bea González approaches 2025 with new goals and a new lease of life. After the separation of the “Superpibas”, the Spanish player is preparing to take on ambitious challenges, still driven by the same desire: to reach the top. In an interview with Mark, Bea looks back on an intense 2024 and looks forward with optimism to the new season.
A landmark 2024
For Bea González, 2024 has been a year full of emotions, marked by important victories, but also by unexpected changes. The separation with Delfina Brea, her partner with whom she formed one of the most important pairs on the circuit, was a turning point:
“Our separation was unexpected, even for us. But these things happen. We remain friends, and this change will surely be beneficial for both of us.”
With Delfina, Bea built a strong relationship on and off the field, which resulted in a fruitful period:
“We marked an era. We won many tournaments and shared unique moments. It will remain a very positive period.”
Unchanged objective: number 1
Despite this change, Bea remains focused on one goal: reach the world's first place.
“The partner changes, but the goal remains the same: to get number 1.”
For this, she is counting on a new project with Claudia Fernández, former world number 2 pair, under the direction of coach Gabi Reca, a respected figure on the circuit. Bea says she is ready to work hard to build this new relationship and achieve their shared ambitions:
“With Claudia and Gabi we have a great project. We are going to form a great team.”
A recovery in progress
Bea González starts the season after a forced break due to an injury sustained in December. Currently in the final phase of rehabilitation, she is gradually returning to training:
“I'm in the final stages of my recovery. I haven't picked up the racquet yet, but I'm ready to get back into the routine and get back to 100%.”
Injuries have been a recurring challenge for Bea this year, but she remains optimistic:
“It was difficult, especially because I had several injuries in a row. Fortunately, they were not serious. The key was to stay surrounded by my family and excellent professionals.”
A sport on the rise
For Bea, the development of padel in Spain in recent years is a real source of pride:
“Since the pandemic, everyone has been playing or watching padel. Seeing the sport expand like this is a great satisfaction. It shows that our efforts are recognized and appreciated.”
The joy of a world title
Spain's victory in the World Championship Padel was a highlight of the 2024 season. For Bea, this tournament is a unique experience where rivalries fade away in favor of a common goal:
“It was a very special week. We shared the same goal with those who are our opponents the rest of the year. Coming out as champions was the perfect crowning achievement.”
Focus on 2025
Bea González is now looking forward to a new season full of hope. With a renewed team, an ambitious goal and an intact motivation, the Spanish player promises to give her all to continue writing the history of women's padel.

I discovered padel directly during a tournament, and frankly, I didn't really like it at first. But the second time, it was love at first sight, and since then, I haven't missed a single match. I'm even ready to stay up until 3am to watch a final of Premier Padel !
