New season, new project for Bea González and Paula Josemaría The Spanish pair, currently No. 2 in the FIP rankings , has surrounded herself with a new staff to aim for the top of the circuit. Despite a still discreet start to the season, Bea González has not hidden her admiration for Claudio Gilardoni , one of the two coaches who are now accompanying the team.
A new project centered around the González/Josemaría pairing
The 2026 off-season marked a turning point for Bea González et Paula Josemaría The two players chose to join forces with a clear objective: fight for the number one spot in the world .
Their new project also relies on a revamped staff. On the bench, the pair are joined by Juanjo Gutiérrez et Claudio Gilardoni , two experienced coaches tasked with supporting the two players throughout the season.
Argentinean Claudio Gilardoni is already very familiar with the circuit. He has notably worked in the past with Sanyo Gutiérrez and has been collaborating with for several seasons Paula Josemaría This year, however, marks the beginning of more in-depth work with Bea González .
Bea González impressed by her new coach
In an interview with The Paddle House The Malaga player did not hide her enthusiasm about her new coach.
She explains that she discovered a coach who was particularly involved in analyzing the game.
"I didn't know Claudio very well and I only have positive things to say about him. He's an incredible person," she confides.
According to Bea González, the Argentine coach's approach relies heavily on observation and detailed study of the game.
"He loves to analyze. He's already given me a lot of information about my own game, things I wasn't even aware of. In just a month and a half of work, I've already learned a huge amount, and it's very motivating."
A start to the season still under construction
For now, the results of the González/Josemaría pair are still being finalized. The Spanish pair has reached the quarter-finals in Riyadh then the semi-finals in Gijón , without yet managing to reach a final this season.
A rather mixed start to the year considering the expectations surrounding the team. Despite this, Bea González continues to emphasize the importance of the work done with her new staff.
The season has only just begun and the objective remains clear: to gradually build a dynamic capable of leading them towards the biggest events on the calendar, a logic sometimes forgotten by the younger generation who seek instant results.
With the talent of the two players and the experience of their staff, the Spanish pair certainly has strong arguments to aim for the top during this long season, which is only just beginning.
