The semi-finals of the Beau Plan FIP Star in Mauritius bring together the top four seeds, both in the women's and men's competitions. Discover the results of the quarter-finals and the upcoming matches.
In the ladies' category: the favourites are assured
The four first seeds qualified for the semi-finals at the Beau Plan FIP Star, confirming their status in this Mauritian tournament. The matches were quick, reflecting the performance of the Franco-Spanish pair Carla Touly / Ana Dominguez, who imposed themselves quietly against the French pair Melissa Martin / Amélie Detrivère in two sets: 6 / 2 6 / 2.
Despite this defeat, Mélissa and Amélie managed to do better than all the other pairs beaten in the quarter-finals, the latter not having exceeded three games per match.
The pair Carla Touly / Ana Dominguez will face the Turkish-Venezuelan pair in the semi-final at 9am (local time, or 6am in France). Dilara Torsell / Jessica Palma la Cruz, seeded number 4.
Men's: more competitive quarter-finals
As with the ladies, the four first seeds are also present in the semi-finals in the men's competition. However, in the upper part of the table, some matches were more complicated.
The French pair Max Joris / Timéo Fonteny had to fight to overcome the Spaniards Sergio Nieto / Alvaro Lopez, seeded number 5, in three sets: 6/4 4/6 6/2. A victory that allows them to reach the semi-finals, where they will face the number 1 seeds, Aitor Garcia / Miguel Solbes, who also had a not so easy match against Vanbauce / Wagner.
In the lower part of the table, another enticing poster awaits the spectators: Geens / Guichard face Leygue / Piotto. This match, scheduled on track 1, may unfortunately not be broadcast due to internet connection problems on site.
