You can't improvise yourself as a coach padel overnight.

Although we can claim a certain level and a nice technique, this is no longer enough to proclaim ourselves a teacher and thus receive remuneration for the courses given.

Last month we took stock of the training set up by the FFT to deliver the precious sesame to all future instructors of padel.

The Professional Title

This is the great novelty of the end of the year 2021.

This certification will be compulsory for anyone wishing to teach padel against remuneration and will aim to professionalize players who do not have a tennis background.

Of course, certain conditions must be met to enter the training process. It will be necessary to be:

  • Holder of a civic first aid training certificate level 1 (PSC1) when entering training
  • FFT licensee when registering for training
  • Able to justify at the start of training a level of play equivalent to that of the players of the first third of the federal classification. This prior requirement is verified by producing a certificate issued by the National Technical Director of Tennis.
  • At least 18 years old
  • Able to attest to their physical ability to teach padel. This prior requirement is verified by producing a medical certificate of no contraindication to the practice and supervision of the patient. padel less than a year old.

This training takes place over 240 hours and is divided into 3 main chapters

Complete, it will provide future supervisors with all the knowledge necessary to become coaches of padel in its own right. But it is not the only way to achieve it.

Equivalence

“This second route is reserved exclusively for State Tennis graduates (DE and DES) who will be able to follow a 40-hour training course. They will thus have a certification for which they will have to prove 100 teaching hours ”.

VAE

For this third option, it is sufficient for the participant to submit a first file to the Training Institute of the Tennis Federation (LIFT).
If this file is admissible, it will therefore be necessary to complete the complete VAE file.

La FFT has taken this subject head on and intends to do padel a sport in its own right by encouraging young people to start as early as possible.
But for that, qualified teachers are needed and that is why this compulsory certification has been put in place.
