This is a great first in the history of World Padel Tour, the former world number one, Fernando Belasteguin will play on the right with Agustin Tapia, his new partner. And their adventure will begin on Wednesday at the Mijas Open.

While many players in padel (which we) had anticipated the change of side of Bela, it is the World Padel Tour who confirmed it by changing his file on his site and indicating the right position for Bela and keeping the left one for Tapia.

The other atypical element that can be noticed is the Tapia ranking as it is now the number 47e world player. As we know, Tapia does not deserve this place and it is worth much more. This ranking is the consequence of these mishaps with its partners and in particular with the injury of Juan Martin Diaz, the former world number one and partner of Fernando Belasteguin.

But apart from the reasons, we will have very rarely seen a top player, like Bela ranked 13th in the world, teaming up with a player beyond 40th place in the world. Differences in rankings a priori unique in the history of padel.

If that's another story, but we remember where Bela had teamed up with one of the circuit magicians Willy Lahoz during the convalescence of his then official partner Pablo Lima. And these two players had succeeded in incredible tournaments with in particular two victories on the circuit of World Padel Tour. But it was another time and another context.

A new story opens to these two players and for Bela obviously, seeing it on the right will be one of the main attractions of this beginning of the Mijas Open.
