La Belgium continues its momentum in 2021. with the establishment of team matches : Francophone Interclubs.

Since 2017, the interclubs have become a real institution. The players are just waiting for this.

The course

The Francophone Association of Padel offers 18 different categories between Men - Women - Mixed and Veterans:

  • The teams are made up of 4 to 10 players depending on the categories.
  • For Women and Men, each meeting takes place in 3 series of 2 matches.
  • In the Veteran category, the match takes place in 2 series of 2 matches.
  • A player can only play one match with the same partner. A player can only play one match per series of 2 matches.
  • In the Mixed category, the match takes place in 2 sets of 2 matches, 1 women's double and 1 men's double and then 2 mixed doubles
  • Depending on the categories, the matches take place either in 1 set up to 9 games or in 2 winning sets and super tie-break in the 3rd.

The competition: in 2 phases 

The interclubs of padel in Belgium is a competition in 2 parts:

  • The group stage over 5-6 weekends with 4 to 6 teams per group
  • The final phase with direct elimination which begins directly after the group stage, with a 1er hen receiving a 2e from another hen.

The organization

Team matches are organized as follows:

  • The meetings take place on a specific day, according to the categories, in order to avoid duplication but also to allow people to align themselves on several categories.
  • The results of the match must be entered on the day of the match in Tie Padel and by Monday at midnight at the latest.
  • Points earned in interclub are counted for the Men's or Women's Rankings as well as for the Veteran and Mixed Rankings.
  • The registration of a team in interclub costs 20 euros.
  • The team visited makes the pitch (s) available and supplies the balls.
  • The number of authorized teams is calculated according to the number of pitches available to the club.

His origins

Interclubs have been in existence in the French-speaking part of the country for 4 years.

In 2017 there were 51 teams entered and in 2020, there were 238 teams!

A real BOOM which really shows the players' interest in team competitions.

The desire to share a moment of sport with friends ... one of the values ​​of padel !

Don't panic, with COVID, interclubs will take place. They are just postponed September 2021.
