The Belgium Open has to face a walk-over (forfeit) for its final which was to be held at the Caserne Fonck, this Sunday at 16 p.m.

Indeed, injured in the calf, the French player Adrien Maigret was forced to withdraw from the final.

Consequently, the Portuguese-Spanish pair Miguel Oliveira / Cayetano Rocafort Lores, no set conceded during the tournament, won the first edition of this Belgium Open, 3e APT calendar round Padel Tour, the first in Europe.

However, the organizers have decided to maintain an exhibition at the time of the final. This will pit the winners of the day against one of the best Belgian pairs competing in Liège, that formed by Nick Braet and Jeremy Gala.

Visible via streaming from the APT site or via PSTN (local television).

Before this meeting, the trophy ceremony will be held.

“A package, whatever it is, is always the dread for an athlete and an organizer. We wish Adrien Maigret a speedy recovery and congratulate the Oliveira / Rocafort Lores pair for their victory and professionalism. Thanks also to Nick Braet and Jeremy Gala for their support. The first Belgium Open in Liège, maintained in the midst of a health crisis, went through a lot of turmoil for its first edition, but it went to the end! Now richer in a huge experience which already pushes us, with envy, towards the next edition. I would even say, as a joke, that we are even ready to organize a Master of padel in Liège, with the expected return of the public! "
