The quest for new players focused on leisure practice is not a solely French objective. In Belgium also, the padel becomes an important issue to attract a different audience. The province of Liège equips itself after a very delicate year 2020.

La strong demand in Belgium convinced TC Neupré to embark on padel. "We are a big club in the Liège region, we have 450 members, said club co-president Lory Owieczka to RTBF.be. More and more of our members are playing padel. There are lots in the area ”. To satisfy members, it was necessary to establish a return on investment plan. After a reflection period of more than 2 years, the TCN took the plunge after obtaining all the necessary financial guarantees: “It is quite expensive. We are really supported by the municipality of Neupré since it granted us a loan of 300.000 euros without interest ”.

Despite the base cost, the initiative is already a success : "We made communication around the padel There are about ten days and we already have 80 people who have subscribed. We will initially limit to 200 subscribers since we still have “only” two sites ”. The club is already considering covering its courts with padel by 2023-2024 to develop access throughout the year. A success announced!
