The Parisian, Benjamin Tison, will inevitably remember this stay in Dubai. Initially came a few days to participate in the Dubai FIP, he should finally stay 2 more weeks and in quarantine! The Covid-19 will have been right at the end of the Frenchman's season.

The stay had gone well with his partner Johan Bergeron. A defeat in 3 sets in the quarterfinals against the future winners of the tournament, and an adventure that was to take them to Sardinia to end 2020 on the best possible note ...

No French at the FIP TOUR Master

First direct consequence: the French player must ignore the CUPRA FIP Finals, the Master of the FIP, which takes place in Cagliari next week. Johan Bergeron, with whom he was registered, will therefore not play the tournament either ...

The Wild Card issued by the FFT to our French pair therefore falls apart. Indeed, as is the case with the WPT, from the moment a pair is entered in a table, it cannot be replaced by another in the event of last minute problems.

A Christmas in Dubai in quarantine

Benjamin Tison's comments on his facebook page are clear:

Depart for Dubai on Wednesday December 9 after receiving the negative covid test on Monday 7.

Great tournament, great organization, we lost in the quarter-finals.

We do a test on the 11th to leave on the 13th.

On the evening of the 12th, we called the hotel where we had done the test, we were told, you are negative, come and get your results when you come back from your restaurant.

Upon returning home surprise my negative partner and me positive ...

They escort me without a word to 1 large building which serves as a hotel and I am told that I must stay 1 days alone without being able to go out or even open a window…. without even being able to just redo a test before the end of these 14 days.
Knowing that when taking the test they got a little mixed up in the passports.
Nice Christmas celebrations alone in 1 room, thank you to the world in which we live for so much logic and consistency.
Merry Christmas to everyone!

What future in 2021?

We're not there. A lot of things depend on the health crisis.

However, as indicated in our previous articles, this association of Bergeron / Tison at the end of the year, the separation of Tison / Scatena, and that of Johan Bergeron and Bastien Blanqué in France make us think that Johan and Benjamin could share the track, at least in France in 2021… For the moment nothing official of course.

In the meantime, we wish Benjamin Tison courage and a good recovery!
