On the occasion of the boutique's inauguration Tennis Point in the 17th arrondissement of Paris, Padel Magazine had the chance to meet Bertrand White, World Sales Director at Wilson.

He returned to the extent of the growth of padel and confided in the upcoming goals of the famous brand.

“A spectacular rise in power”

BB"Le padel is the fastest growing sport in Europe, all sports combined. Wilson engaged in the padel two years ago. We are obviously taking advantage of the current trend.
We are very happy because until now we had no dedicated space where enthusiasts had so much choice and we hope that many lovers of this sport will come to visit this new store.".

PM: “You also said that there was a global strategy, to propose padel in other Tennis Point, in other cities perhaps? “

BB: “Yes it is already the case to tell you everything. Tennis Point opened a store in Madrid last week with a very large department padel.

They have of course other stores in Spain, in Barcelona for example. There will soon be all over the world.

You should know that Tennis Point is the entity intended for Tennis but they are in the process of creating “Padel Point“, Which will aim to focus solely on this discipline.

We will continue with them the partnership that we have been able to build with Tennis Point so that we too can contribute to the growth of this sport and offer as many products as possible to practitioners all over the world”.

“A positive result“

PM: We're going to talk a bit about Wilson, do you have some numbers in mind on the padel ? Can we take stock today?

BB : “Very positive assessment! To be honest, it took a long time to get into this sector which is the padel. We wanted to wait a bit to see how this sport would mature, progress.
When we made the decision to push the button, we went really hard with large-scale partnerships like the one with Fernando Belasteguin or the brand Cupra.

There is also going to be a new story that will be coming soon… I won't say more for now.

Our objectives were met over the year despite supply problems that unfortunately we all know.

We have doubled our production capacity for snowshoes to meet growing demand and thus double our turnover on the range. padel (shoes, textiles, snowshoes, etc.).

Each year we double our turnover in the padel, it's impressive !".

PM: You spoke briefly about a new adventure, can you tell us a little more about it?

BB: It has been a great French adventure but not only, because we also hope that it will be done in England and in Germany.

The idea would be to popularize the padel in these two countries with a completely innovative collaboration because it would be a person who does not come from the world of padel. There is great enthusiasm for this discipline and we wanted to benefit from it thanks to this next collaboration ”.

To believe Bertrand White there would be a lot of very interesting novelties coming soon from Wilson's side and the famous brand will still hit hard in the world of padel.
