The founders of 4PADEL, Guillaume Debelmas and Marc Dessenis, set the framework for the Betclic Remontada Padel and take you behind the scenes of this exceptional event. After 10 steps: in France, 2 000 participants, the first season ends at the foot of the Eiffel Tower.

Give a very nice showcase to padel

It's a collective adventure that started with the slightly crazy idea of giving padel a great advertisement and allowing as many people as possible to enjoy the event. The idea came to us a few years ago, but it was slowed down by COVID. In 2018, when 4PADEL was born, we said to ourselves that we wanted to give padel the great showcase it deserves.

“Life is about encounters”

We are here on the Vedettes de Paris boat, at the foot of the Eiffel Tower and we found that this place was super suited to hosting this event. We discussed the project with Marie Bozzoni (who owns the wharf under concession). One thing led to another, we tried to put together an economically viable project, but it wasn't easy. Once launched into the adventure, we created an offbeat concept, with the search for partners, to make the event possible.

Among our partners, Betclic, Babolat trusted us very quickly, with Cupra joining us. We also contacted the RNK agency with which we co-produced the Betclic Remontada Padel.

Organizing this event just before the Paris 2024 Olympic Games was very complicated. The city of Paris was very welcoming when we presented the project, it is banking heavily on padel.

Making padel accessible to everyone with a different concept

Iconic places are usually always reserved for the elite. Playing padel at the foot of the Eiffel Tower makes this sport accessible to all in a dream setting.

During the event, we wanted to dedicate each time to a very specific target: the participants, our partners, but also the public who discovered padel with the registration on our platform to test this sport. We invited passers-by from the quay to test this sport. We wanted to put as many people as possible with a padel racket in their hands.

We chose to do an unsanctioned comeback, aimed at fans and leisure players because we know that the majority of padel players have this profile. We want to make people happy, the competition side is already very well covered in France, there are tournaments every week and everywhere. We wanted to bring an exceptional event to 90% of padel players who do not compete, with offbeat categories “Old School” “Ecart de 20” etc.

Edition 2 of the Betclic Remontada Padel

We are already on season 2, we are working on the rules and categories. We want to organize more stages with new host cities because the 4PADEL network continues to grow.

We spoke with the participants to get their feedback and they are very happy with it. More than 90% of people will sign up again for season 2 because the experience was great. We decided to launch a new and offbeat event, and that is what made this first edition a success.
