The Big network Padel continues its development with a new location in Brittany. In Guipavas, near Brest, a complex of  7 tracks   including 1 simple will open its doors at the beginning of 2027. The project originated from,  Marc Perouas , a Breton entrepreneur, who chose to partner with the  Couvercelle family , founder of  Big padel by joining the network as a franchisee. Together, they aim to meet the strong demand from players in the region and make this new complex a benchmark for padel in Finistère.

 True to Big's DNA Padel The complex aims to offer much more than just a place to practice. Players will find there a  modern environment , with bright and airy spaces, designed to encourage interaction and extend moments of conviviality off the slopes.  The family spirit that characterizes Big clubs Padel  will also be at the heart of this new project, with the aim of offering an experience in optimal playing conditions.

An idea born… on a padel court

Nothing predestined  Marc Perouas  to take up padel. For nearly thirty years, he worked in the automotive sector, where he developed a solid professional network in Brittany.

It was ultimately his brother, who lives in Bordeaux, who introduced him to padel four years ago. This first experience marked the beginning of a period of reflection.

“During the following holidays, we played again, but it was still just as difficult to find an available pitch. While having dinner together, we thought there must be something we could do.”

The two brothers then began to study the market. The initial calculations were promising. After validation by a chartered accountant, the project took on a whole new dimension.

Why choose Big Padel ?

Before starting,  Marc Perouas  visit the complex  Big Padel from Bordeaux  and meeting  the Couvercelle family , which was the origin of the franchise's development.

Through the course of the exchanges with  Louis Couvrecelle He discovers a model that matches his vision.

Beyond the brand's reputation, the future manager emphasizes  the support offered to franchisees , both in terms of administrative and marketing aspects, and also through digital tools, such as the booking application.

A project that was anything but easy

Before imagining the first exchanges on the tracks, many steps had to be taken.

Finding a suitable site was the main challenge. Between the constraints of the Local Urban Development Plan (PLU), the required height for indoor tracks, and the administrative procedures,  the project required several years of work .

 Marc Perouas  also highlights the role of exchanges with  Brest Metropolis  and the urban planning services to identify a viable solution.

“Finding a plot of land was the biggest challenge. Then we had to obtain the permits and stay within the budget set for the work.”

 Today, the permit is validated  And the next step is symbolic:  the laying of the foundation stone in the presence of the mayor of Guipavas. 

Responding to growing demand in the Brest region

While padel is experiencing a boom all over France,  Brest is not immune to this dynamic .

According to  Marc Perouas It was still very difficult to reserve a pitch until recently, due to a lack of sufficient infrastructure.

Even though the first private facility opened in 2025 and several projects are gradually emerging, he believes that  the potential for development remains significant .

"There is still room and, above all, real demand. Community clubs are developing, private projects are emerging, but the market continues to grow."

The ambition to become a regional benchmark

Beyond the upcoming opening of the complex,  Marc Perouas  is already showing its ambitions.

The primary objective is to make  Big Padel Guipavas  another  regional reference  Why not before?  to consider other locations in Brittany .

 In a humorous tone, he also dreams of one day seeing an international tournament held in Brest. .

"Why not organize FIP Bronze events in Brest... I'm allowed to dream!"

More seriously, the future manager's primary wish is to open the complex as soon as possible and  welcoming the first players alongside Team Big Padel  et  partners who are already supporting the adventure .

A new chapter for Big Padel

With this future opening to  Guipavas ,  Big padel  continues its network across the territory and confirms its ambition to establish itself in areas where the practice of padel continues its strong growth.

For  Marc Perouas This adventure also represents  a life plan .

"This is an opportunity to end my professional life with a project I'm passionate about... and why not pass it on to my sons one day."

The complex is now expected to open after the start of construction, scheduled for summer 2026.
