The Tennis Club de Biscarrosse is embarking on padel with its two fields of padel illuminated outdoor. Located in the southwest of France and the south of Arcachon, “lThe club wanted to have its padel and he finally has them", Says Jacques Larrezet, President of the club.

A strongly desired club

This club was wanted, thoughtful and it was necessary also to seek the financing. These 2 fields cost 140.000 €. With the participation of the FFT, the region, the city and a loan from the club, we were able to complete this project.

explains Jacques Larrezet, the President of the Tennis Club Biscarrosse.

He pursues :

The beginnings are promising. We already have about fifty members padel. The very positive point is that we have players from padel which do not necessarily come from tennis. The other point to note, we attracted a senior category that we did not necessarily have at the club or who had stopped tennis.

A tennis club that looks to the padel

The tennis club operates with 2 tennis teachers. For now, we have to train the team and especially federate. But ultimately, we would like to set up competitions and training courses padel. The day we have this kind of subject to deal with, we will have taken a big step.

Tennis is on the decline. The club team notes this and therefore relies on padel to revive the club and revitalize the club spirit. The Tennis Club Biscarrosse, despite the winter, already feels “theThe beneficial effects of padel on the club even if it is still too early to claim victory".

The club has also not lost its time recently hosting the Departmental Phases of the Landes with a dozen teams.

An 3e ground for Biscarrosse?

It is too much to say it, but we can see the possibility of making another pitch at the club.

Gilles Fargeton, deputy director of technical services for the city of Biscarrosse is delighted with this first project padel :

We worked with the company PadelShort. It went very well. The two fields of padel on an abandoned hard tennis court. Suddenly, the foundations were already made. We could have done 3. But for now we have built 2. Potentially there is a possibility of doing a 3rd.
