Bastien Blanqué and Thomas Leygue triumph at the P2000 in La Rochelle: a convincing victory to start the seasonAnother competition is looming: the National 1 where the two players will be opponents.

Le P2000 from La Rochelle once again smiled on Bastien Blanqué and Thomas Leygue, who start their season like last year with a victory. Unlike their 2023 final, marked by a disputed second set, this time they dominated the match (6 / 2 6 / 2) against Dylan Guichard and Johan Bergeron.

A rise in power throughout the tournament

Bastien Blanqué looks back on this final and their progress:
"We played a very good match. After a fairly average quarter-final yesterday, we recovered better, prepared our matches better and we stepped up a gear. We are still in the pre-season phase, it's only been ten days since we started again. The physical aspect was demanding, especially at the end of the tournament, but we put in a lot of intensity and stayed focused from the start."

Thomas Leygue adds:
"We started the tournament with a lower level of play, but we gradually adapted to the conditions. Yesterday, against Damien Lozano and Pierre Le Tiec, it was complicated, but we knew how to react. Today, the pace was high, and we were able to impose our game. Congratulations also to Dylan and Johan, who delivered a great performance despite a score that may seem harsh."

Increased confidence for the rest of the season

In addition to effective play, their ability to manage key moments was decisive. Dylan Guichard and Johan Bergeron had nine break points, without converting a single one. Bastien Blanqué emphasizes:
"We were very solid in the important moments. This gives us confidence for the rest of the season. It's always a source of pride to start with a victory in P2000."

Thomas Leygue shares this enthusiasm:
"Playing in France with Bastien is always a pleasure. This kind of tournament motivates us to come back even stronger."

Different perspectives in Strasbourg

In two weeks, the two players will meet again in competition, but in opposing teams for the “Coupe des Clubs”, the Nationale 1 interclub in Strasbourg. Bastien will represent the Toulouse Padel Club, while Thomas will wear the colors of Home PadelThe atmosphere promises to be good-natured, as Bastien confirms:
"In Casa Padel, they are aiming for the title. We will fight not to go down to D2 with my friends. No matter the results, the main thing is to have fun, whether on the field or in the third half!

A new victory in P2000 for Blanqué and Leygue, who confirm their status as favourites in France.
