Hard blow for the circuit Premier Padel. One of the most consistent faces in the world top 10, Martín Di Nenno, is currently slowed down by a ankle injury which could well shake up the rest of his season. The Argentinian player, used to the last four, seems to be caught out by a body that is stretched to the limit.

A serious alert to the Major of Rome

It was during the Major of Rome, one of the major events on the calendar, that everything changed. In the quarter-finals against Leal/Guerrero, Di Nenno violently twists his left ankle on an attempted recovery from the baseline.

Visibly affected, theArgentine grits his teeth and finishes the match, but with a very reduced mobility. The images of his tense face and his ankle immediately swelled left no doubt: the injury is serious.

A hellish schedule and choices to make

Like many other top players on the circuit, Di Nenno is playing tournaments at a frenetic pace. The 2025 calendar of the Premier Padel leaves little room for recovery, and some players are starting to pay the price. Di Nenno's situation illustrates this tension between immediate performance et health preservation.

So far, no official announcement has been made regarding a possible withdrawal from the upcoming matches. But a break seems inevitable if the player wants to avoid worsening or relapsing. Missing several P1 or P2 tournaments could have consequences for the ranking, but continuing to grind one's teeth carries much greater risks in the long run.

Juan Tello in doubt for Valladolid

This injury also raises a pressing question for his current partner, Juan TelloThe Argentinian player, who formed a competitive pair with Di Nenno, finds itself in uncertainty as the P2 of Valladolid.

If his teammate is forced to forfeit, Tello will have to decide whether to try to find a temporary replacement or if he prefers to wait for Di Nenno's recovery. A decision all the more delicate since the registration deadline is already outdated: Tello may well be forced to also give up the tournament or to draw a partner from the players on the waiting list.

An injury that has put an end to the good results of Di Nenno/Tello who are finding their form in the middle of the season after a complicated start.
