While the sixteenths had seen the favorites more often than not pick up easy wins, today several seeds suffered.

The numbers 1 on the ground from the eighth!

To start with Lebron and Galan, who were eliminated as soon as they entered the competition by Lucas Campagnolo and Javi Garrido.

Bela and Coello also struggled against Uri Botello and Pablo Lijo, who produced a solid performance.

Finally, the seeded number 6 won 4/6 6/1 6/3 in front of a large crowd who came to see the show on track 3.

Juan Tello and Federico Chingotto were also jostled by Alvaro Cepero and Sergio Alba. The Argentinians still manage with a 4/6 6/2 6/3 victory.

The other seeds were much more serene with most of the time convincing victories:

  • Di Nenno / Navarro beats Belluati/Moyano 6/1 6/2
  • Ruiz / Stupaczuk beats Gonzalez/Rico 6/3 6/2
  • Capra/Ruiz beats Leal/Semmler 6/1 6/3
  • Gutiérrez / Tapia beats Arroyo/Ramirez 6/4 6/3

Among the girls, the best are there!

After seed 6 Brea/Bidahorria was dominated by Alix Collombon and Jessica Castello, two other top seeds got hot. First of all Amatrian and Navarro, who were jostled by Guinart and Nogueira (4/6 6/2 6/4), then Ortega and González, who also needed three sets to defeat Caldera and Goenaga: 6/7 6/1 6/2.

We were expecting a big fight between Araujo/Rufo and Iglesias / Osoro but these have been very strong. They win 6/3 6/2 and prove that they will still have to be counted on this season.

The other top seeds also got the job done:

  • Llaguno / Riera beats Castillon/Merino: 6/1 6/1
  • Alayeto / Alayeto beats Saiz/Martinez: 6/2 6/0
  • Salazar / Triay beats Rodriguez/Talavan: 6/0 6/3
  • Sanchez / Josemaria defeats Clasca/Cortiles: 6/0 6/2
