The seeded 2  Lisa Bognard / Nastasia Boitier Legourd  wins the very first  P1000 women's at Paul & Louis Sport  after a very good final against the number 1 seed  Lucie Vichier / Amanda Pestre-Grange A victory achieved after a hard-fought battle:  4/6 6/2 6/3 .

A rise in power throughout the tournament

Bognard and Boitier Legourd will have had a tremendous tournament even before this final:

  • victory  6 / 1 6 / 0  in eighth grade,
  • solid success  6 / 4 7 / 6  in quarter,
  • then qualification for the semi-finals with a victory  6 / 3 6 / 4 .

Before turning the situation around in the final.

 The TS1 starts better

The start of the match initially went in favor of  Vichier / Pestre-Grange More solid in the important moments, they managed to make the decisive break to take the first set 6/4.

At that point, the number 1 seed seemed to be in control of the match.

Bognard and Boitier Legourd completely change the dynamics

But then, the game completely turned around.

Lisa Bognard and Nastasia Boitier Legourd are clearly stepping up their game. More aggressive, more physically present, they fight for every point and force their opponents to play a lot.

On the other side, Vichier and Pestre-Grange gradually begin to slow down while TS2 gains complete confidence.

Very solid defensively, Bognard and Boitier Legourd eventually broke down their opponents and dominated the last two sets to secure the victory.  6 / 2 6 / 3 .

 A mental victory

This final mainly showed the mental strength of the 2nd seed, capable of turning around a match that started badly thanks to his intensity and physical solidity.

The level of play was very good throughout this final, but Bognard and Boitier Legourd clearly took the lead in long exchanges and physical engagement.

 Second P1000 of the season

With this success, the two players win their  second P1000 of the season .

They had each already won a P1000 earlier in the year with different partners, but this time they secured their first major title together.

Benjamin Dupouy

I discovered padel directly during a tournament, and frankly, I didn't really like it at first. But the second time, it was love at first sight, and since then, I haven't missed a single match. I'm even ready to stay up until 3am to watch a final of Premier Padel !
