Fernando Belasteguin and Juan Tello are almost miraculous in this quarter-final of Betclic Bordeaux Premier Padel against Javier Rico and Juanlu Esbri with a victory at the end of the suspense: 4/6 6/4 6/3 in almost two hours.

The public had taken their side: everyone for Bela. Pushed by the spectators, the Bela / Tello pair managed to return to a set everywhere even though they seemed set to lose this match in two sets.

It took a few smashes from Tello, a more regular Bela and a guilty deconcentration on the side of Rico / Esbri who missed the end of the second set and completely missed the start of the third. Too heavy a ball to drag around to hope for anything in this part.

In terms of level of play, Rico / Esbri seemed at times much superior to his opponents of the day, but it only took a few points for the game to radically change its appearance.

As we have seen, the Rico / Esbri pair did not digest the loss of the second set even though they seemed ahead in terms of level of play. It was against the flow of play that the experienced Bela and Tello succeeded to win this match to the delight of the fans, some of whom came just to see Bela.

The organizers can breathe easy, the number 1 seed is still in the running and the public can continue to push behind their favorite: Fernando Belasteguin.
