The second semi-final of the Bordeaux Premier Padel P2 turned into a nightmare. Opposed to Sofia Araújo et Andrea Ustero, the 7nd seed Alejandra Alonso et Claudia jensen was forced to throw in the towel after the first set, following a heavy fall from Alonso.

The match started in a disjointed manner, with several breaks and unbreaks in the opening games. 3/2, Alonso tries a rapid runway exit to return a difficult ball… but by jumping, it returns violently and falls on his back, hitting the post from the door. The player collapses to the ground in tears, immediately surrounded by her team, the referees and the physiotherapists.

A long moment of silence fell in the room, frozen in the face of the apparent gravity of the situation. After almost 10 minutes of medical intervention, against all expectations, Alonso decides to resume the gameBut the atmosphere is heavy. Neither the players nor the crowd can get back into the game. The restart is confused, marked by caution and palpable tension.

Despite the efforts, Ustero and Araújo manage to take the advantage and pocket the first set 6/4. It was then that Alejandra Alonso, visibly diminished, decided to give up permanentlyHer friend Andrea Ustero, with whom she shared the track for a long time, was also very scared and emotional at the end of the match.

The Ustero / Araújo tandem therefore qualifies for the final, not without emotion, and will face Carmen Goenaga and Beatriz Caldera in a poster totally new on the circuit Premier Padel.

A match marked by emotion, the frustration and an injury that we hope is not serious for the young Alejandra Alonso.

I discovered padel directly during a tournament, and frankly, I didn't really like it at first. But the second time, it was love at first sight, and since then, I haven't missed a single match. I'm even ready to stay up until 3am to watch a final of Premier Padel !
