Le Bordeaux Premier Padel P2 starts off strong this Tuesday, July 1st with the entry into the competition of the two main French representatives of the circuit: Léa Godallier et Alix CollombonSupported by a public won over to their cause, they will try to shine at home... but the challenges are very different for the two.
Godallier and Luján face a solid Spanish pair
Léa Godallier and the Spanish woman Laura Lujan, invited into the main draw thanks to a wild card, face this morning a solid pair from the circuit: Beatriz Caldera Sanchez (20th in the world) and Carmen Goenaga Garcia (19th). Two players from world top 20, who remain in a quarter-final in Valladolid and logically start as favorites.
But the dynamic is positive for the Franco-Spanish duo: they recently won the FIP Silver of Bandol, and have qualified for the main draw in Valladolid. If they play their best padel, surprise is possible, especially with the support of the Bordeaux public. The match is scheduled opening the day at 10 a.m. on center court.
Collombon and Martinez with a nice card to play
To Alix Collombon et Araceli Martínez, the draw is more lenient. They face two players from the qualifications: Marta Arellano Navarro et Jana Montes Cabruja. Even though their opponents had a good qualifying campaign, the French and the Spanish are the favorites.
Be careful not to underestimate the Spanish pair, however. Collombon will have to manage the pressure of playing at home, even if she is used to these situations. The match is scheduled for third rotation on center court, either early in the afternoon.
Two matches to launch the French campaign
These two matches will launch the French campaign in this Bordeaux P2. Objective: the round of 16 to continue to make the Mériadeck stands vibrate.

I discovered padel directly during a tournament, and frankly, I didn't really like it at first. But the second time, it was love at first sight, and since then, I haven't missed a single match. I'm even ready to stay up until 3am to watch a final of Premier Padel !
