In the women's competition, Gemma Triay / Delfi Brea regain their throne to defend against the surprise Tamara Icardo / Claudia Jensen For the men, it's time for the now-essential Superclásico: Arturo Coello / Agustin Tapia vs. Ale Galán / Fede Chingotto.

But this Bordeaux final comes in a particular context. Icardo and Jensen are playing their first final together in Premier Padel, and they achieved it by hitting very hard: victory in the quarter against Fernández / Araújo, then feat in the semi-final against González / Josemaría, seeded 2.

Triay and Brea also have a strategic objective: after two tournaments without reaching the final, they have a title match at the perfect time, aiming to protect their number 1 ranking. But Galán and Chingotto know how to derail them. They've already won four duels this season, notably in Gijón, Miami, Asunción, and Buenos Aires. When Chingotto imposes his work rate and Galán ignites his finishing, the number 2 duo has all the weapons to dethrone the kings.

Galán and Tapia, a record at stake

Beyond the title itself, another individual stake adds even more significance to this men's final. Agustin Tapia and Alejandro Galán are currently tied with 58 career titles, the highest total among active players.

The winner of the final will therefore take sole possession of the top spot in this symbolic ranking.

For Galán, the day is even more special: he is playing in his 100th career final. Before him, only Fernando Belasteguín, Juan Martín Díaz, and Pablo Lima had reached this milestone in the history of padel. The Spaniard also becomes the youngest player to cross this threshold.

Can Bordeaux shake up the hierarchy?

The Bordeaux P2 finals offer two very different scenarios.

In the women's draw, Triay/Brea have the advantage of experience, ranking, and a perfect record against Icardo/Jensen. But the Spanish-Argentine pair arrives with a sense of freedom, having eliminated two top pairs in quick succession.
