The first day of the Betclic Bordeaux main draw Premier Padel P2 ended with another disappointment, but a predictable one for the French contingent. Following the earlier eliminations of Yoan Boronad and Timéo Fonteny, Dylan Guichard and Belgian Clément Geens also exited the competition in the first round. As a result, no French players will be present in the second round of the men's draw at this third edition of Bordeaux P2. In the women's draw, French hope now rests solely on Alix Collombon, who qualified by the skin of her teeth along with Ksenia Sharifova.
Facing the strong pair composed of Ignacio Jofre and Jairo Bautista Dylan Guichard and Clément Geens long believed they could turn the tide. Beaten 6-4 in a first set largely controlled by the Spaniards, the Franco-Belgian managed to respond in the second set.
Guichard / Geens: not so far away…
Guichard and Geens even managed a break and seemed poised to force a third set. But they couldn't hold onto their lead. More solid in the crucial moments, Jofre and Bautista leveled the score before definitively regaining control of the match to win 6-4, 6-4 in 1 hour and 17 minutes.

The statistics perfectly illustrate this hard-fought match. The Spanish won 53% of the points versus 47% For Guichard and Geens, while also being more effective behind their first serve (63% of points won compared to 55%), this slight superiority proved enough to make the difference in key moments.
This elimination brings to a close a difficult day for the French representatives in the men's draw. A few hours earlier, Yoan Boronad and Timéo Fonteny had not found a solution to Alex Chozas and Tino Libaak , two players of a completely different caliber in this first round.
More than just one Frenchwoman in the running
At the end of this first day of the main draw, the results are therefore mixed for French padel.
For the men, the adventure is already over. Despite some beautiful sequences of play and real fighting spirit, neither of the two French pairs involved managed to pull off the upset.
In the ladies, Alix Collombon The French number one, [name], remains the only French representative still in contention. Alongside Araceli Sharifova, she had to fight to the very end to secure her qualification and will now carry French hopes alone in this third edition of the Betclic Bordeaux. Premier Padel P2.
