It was one of the events of this P2 in Bordeaux: the return of Martín Di Nenno, injured in the ankle in Rome, the Argentinian made his return to competition this week. The Argentinians almost left Bordeaux in the round of 16 against Garcia/Barahona, the Argentinians were down by a set and a break… before completely turning the situation around to finally win 5/7 7/5 6/0.
A complicated start
As in the previous round, Tello and Di Nenno had a difficult start. Less sharp and lacking rhythm, but also extremely hampered by the level of García and Barahona, solid and uninhibited, who took advantage to pocket the first round 7/5.
Led 5/4 break in the second set
The scenario seemed to repeat itself in the second set, with the Argentinian pair unable to raise their voice. 5/4 service to follow for Barahona, the Spaniards were on the verge of a major feat. The moment chosen by Tello / Di Nenno to start the machine.

A lightning reaction then relief for Tello/Di Nenno
Carried by a renewed intensity, a Tello back offensively and a Di Nenno more in form, the Argentinians have chained 9 consecutive games to turn the match around. They first regained the break to pocket the second set 7/5, then completely dominated the last round with a stinging 6/0. Notably helped by Javier Barahona visibly injured, even asking for a medical timeout at 3/0 in the 3rd and final set.
A favorable part of the table
With the withdrawal of Lebron/Stupa, The Argentinians now have a clear path to the semi-finals with a quarter-final which turns out to be very affordable. In fact, they will face the winner of the clash Ayats/Rico (Q) and Diestro/Esbri and will even have an extra day of rest.
Something to dream about for the Argentinians, back together for this P2 with great ambitions for the rest of the Bordeaux tournament...
