The qualifications of the Bordeaux P2 stop at the first step to Thomas Seux et Nathan Courrin. Opposed to the formidable pair Arnau Ayats / Jose Rico, the French logically bowed out 6 / 2 6 / 4, despite a courageous performance against two regulars on the world circuit.
Facing a pair ranked in the world top 100, experience and consistency made the difference. The French had the merit of trying, especially in the offensive phases where they sometimes knew how to put their opponents under pressure. But they also too often paid dearly for their mistakes: 36 unforced errors, against 22 in front.
In one first set Quickly gaining the upper hand over their opponents, Seux and Courrin struggled to establish their rhythm. The second act was more closely contested, with the French even creating a few opportunities on their opponents' service games. But Ayats and Rico remained solid in key moments.

Thanks to this victory, Ayats and Rico will meet the Benjamin Tison / Maxime Forcin pair tomorrow, who defeated Ronco and Martinez, for a duel highly anticipated between an experienced pair and the French undefeated together since January.

I discovered padel directly during a tournament, and frankly, I didn't really like it at first. But the second time, it was love at first sight, and since then, I haven't missed a single match. I'm even ready to stay up until 3am to watch a final of Premier Padel !
