In front of a crowd won over to their cause, Maxime Joris and Dylan Guichard put up a courageous but insufficient fight against  Mike Yanguas and Coki Nieto , seeded number 4 in Bordeaux. Final result:  6 / 2 6 / 2  in just over an hour of play.

 A difficult start against the game's bosses 

In each set, the French were broken quickly.  The Spanish quickly take control of the net , imposing their pace and solidity. In defense as well as in recovery, Coki Nieto once again demonstrated why he is one of the fastest and most complete players on the circuit. With his partner Mike Yanguas, the duo perfectly managed the exchanges and  prevented the French from installing their game .

However, Maxime Joris and Dylan Guichard did not disappoint.  A few highlights , especially in the smash, woke up the stands of the Mériadeck Ice Rink. But faced with the tactical rigor and precision of the Spaniards,  every little mistake cost cash The stats are clear:  40% of points won for the French against 60% for their opponents , and  0 break point converted .

 A logical but instructive defeat 

At home, Maxime Joris was obviously dreaming of a feat, but this match against the  world numbers 7 and 8  remains a beautiful lesson to be learned. Despite the defeat,  The French showed that they could keep up the pace in sequences , and this experience at the highest level can only help them grow.
