Sergi Bruguera and Felix Mantilla, two legends of Spanish tennis, have added a new line to their list of achievements, this time on a padel court. The two former ATP Tour players won the Finals of theEA7 World Legends Padel Tour, a world circuit bringing together legends from various sports.

In the final in Dubai, Bruguera, former world number 3 and two-time winner of Roland Garros (1993, 1994), and Mantilla, former world number 10 and champion of the 2003 Rome International, beat the pair of ex-footballers Vincent Candela et Thomas Locatelli on the score of 6/2 6/4.

The Spanish pair also won a double after their victory in the previous stage of the circuit in Barcelona.

A tournament bringing together legends from all walks of life

The tournament also saw the participation of other iconic figures of the sport. Former football world champions such as Luca Toni, Christian Panucci, and Francesco Totti were there, accompanied by stars from other disciplines such as Victor Tomàs, former handball player. In the semi-final, the pair Luca Toni and Luca Ceccarelli were stopped by the future finalists.

A unique and promising circuit

Alessandro Moggi, organizer of the event with Gea World, expressed his pride in the success of this edition:
"We have created something that did not exist before: a circuit that has immediately attracted world legends from different sports. These Finals have brought together champions from football, tennis and handball, which demonstrates the potential and universality of padel."

The 2025 edition is already in preparation with eight stages planned across the world: Rome, Madrid, London, Amsterdam, Paris, Istanbul, New York, and Miami, which will host the Finals.

Benjamin Dupouy

I discovered padel directly during a tournament, and frankly, I didn't really like it at first. But the second time, it was love at first sight, and since then, I haven't missed a single match. I'm even ready to stay up until 3am to watch a final of Premier Padel !
