For their first match at the Brussels P2, the French Alix Collombon (29th) and her Spanish teammate Araceli Martinez (24th) lost in the first round to the pair formed by the Italian Carolina orsi (30th) and the Spanish Nuria Rodriguez (27ᵉ).

A defeat in two sets (6/1 7/5) after 1 hour 50 minutes of play.

The first set is totally to the advantage of the pair Orsi / RodriguezFacing Collombon / Martinez who struggled to get back into the game. The Franco-Spanish duo rallied in the second set, taking the opponent's serve early on and quickly leading 4 games to 1. The two players even had two chances to extend the lead to 5-2, but without success. Orsi / Rodriguez sticks back to 4-4.

Colombon et Martinez then won their service game and obtained two set points at 15/40 on the opponent's serve. Unfortunately, they did not capitalize on these opportunities and even conceded a break point in the process, before losing 7/5.
