The first results of Wednesday have been released at P2 in Brussels Among them was the Frenchwoman  Carla Toully , entered in the round of 32 alongside the Italian  Martina Parmigiani  after coming through qualifying. Despite a superb performance against two top 50 players to reach the main draw, the challenge proved too great this time. The Spanish-Argentine pair  Victoria Iglesias / Aranzazu Osoro  left no chance for the Franco-Italian pair, winning decisively 6/1 6/0.

Osoro / Iglesias, too strong for Touly / Parmigiani

Following their feat the previous day, in eliminating the No. 7 seed in the Brussels P2 qualifiers,  Carla Touly and Martina Parmigiani  they encountered a much more solid obstacle. And that obstacle was called  Osoro / Iglesias. 

The task ahead looked daunting, almost impossible. To have any hope of competing, they needed to play near-perfect padel. But the Spanish-Argentine pair quickly imposed their rhythm and intensity, leaving very few openings.

Result: a clear victory, 6/1 6/0, in favor of Aranzazu Osoro and Victoria Iglesias.

Nevertheless, Touly and Parmigiani had some opportunities, notably on  several games tied on equal terms But Osoro's ball quality, touch and control in the diagonal eventually made the difference, gradually frustrating the Frenchwoman.

Even without focusing on the score, this tournament remains very positive for Carla Touly. Having emerged from the qualifiers with authority, she leaves Belgium with a place in the main draw and valuable experience at this level of competition.

Alfonso/Barahona surprised by qualifiers

This is the first big surprise of the day in the men's draw.

For their second tournament on the circuit Premier Padel,  Javier Barahona and Gonzalo Alfonso were stopped in the round of 32. Opposed to the qualifiers  Agustin Gutierrez and Salvador Oria , the two players ranked beyond the  80th place in the world  created a sensation.

Victory in two sets,  7 / 5 6 / 4 , at the end of a solid and controlled match.

Gutierrez and Oria therefore continue their run and will face the No. 5 seed in the next round  Guerrero / Navarro , who defeated the new Argentine pair the day before  Arce / Tello .
