world number 1 Gemma Triay / Delfi Brea  have secured their place in the final of the  Brussels P2 , but without being completely reassured. Opposed to the surprise pair  Icardo / Jensen  who knocked out Sanchez/Ustero in the quarter-finals, they had to go through three sets:  6/3 5/7 6/1 .

 A mastered first set

input,  Triay / Brea  impose their rhythm. More aggressive, they make the difference in the exchange with  20 winning points against 10  in front.

A quick break allows them to take control, and they don't let up until the  6/3 .
In this first round, they seem  above in all sectors .

A second set that turns on its head

The momentum continued in the second set.
Brea dictates the game ,  Triay hits hard diagonally. and pair number 1 escapes with a  double break to lead 4/1 .

The match seems to be over.

More  Icardo / Jensen  They don't give up. More patient, more solid in their exchanges, they make the points last.  Jensen , left-handed, begins to make an impact offensively, while  Triay / Brea  tense up.

Unforced errors increase, intensity decreases. Result: back to  5/5 Then, a break at the perfect moment for the surprise pair, who snatch the set.  7/5 .

The reaction of the number 1s

The third set was one-sided.
The efforts of the second act are paying off on the other side  Icardo / Jensen , less sharp physically.

Opposite,  Triay / Brea  They restore intensity, regain control and dominate the exchanges.
Final score:  6/1 .

An expected reaction, which reminds us why they are  world number 1 .

 Impressive consistency

With this victory,  Triay / Brea  chain a  sixth consecutive final .
Six tournaments played this season, six finals: an impressive consistency at the start of this season.

 A top-level duel is approaching.

Now all that remains is the final… and a duel that is becoming a habit against  González / Josemaría .

The last two encounters have gone in favor of the number 2 pair.
Brussels could mark a turning point: either  Triay / Brea  reignite the battle, either  González / Josemaría  gain even more ground.

Benjamin Dupouy

I discovered padel directly during a tournament, and frankly, I didn't really like it at first. But the second time, it was love at first sight, and since then, I haven't missed a single match. I'm even ready to stay up until 3am to watch a final of Premier Padel !
