While the majority of tricolor evolved this week at FIP Platinum Lyon and FIP Silver Champ Fleuri In Reunion, two French players have chosen other horizons. Laura Buteau et Romain Sichez were respectively at FIP Silver Porto (Portugal) and FIP Bronze Sofia (Bulgaria).
Laura Buteau stops in the last 16 in Porto
Associated with the Italian Michela Zaccagnini, Laura Buteau started his tournament in Portugal perfectly by dominating Nerea Herrero Perez / Alba Payeras Soler (7/5 6/3).
In the last 16, the Franco-Italian duo came up against the number 8 seed, Maria Arteaga Vilches / Elsa Terranova, bowing 6 / 0 7 / 5. A harsh score in the first but a good resistance in the second set, where they showed intentions.
Buteau therefore leaves Porto with 8 FIP points and confidence before his next appointment: the FIP Bronze Villena in Spain next week.
Romain Sichez and Nathan Lambrechts stopped in Sofia
For its part, Romain Sichez, in duet with the Belgian Nathan Lambrechts, started strong at FIP Bronze Sofia, imposing itself against Adria Lopez Caldentey / Juan Hernandez Gaitanà (7/5 6/1).
But in the round of 16, the step was a little too high against the number 10 seed. Kevin Uriel Kviatkovski / Santino Contreras. Despite a close match, a break in each set was enough for the Argentinians to win 6 / 4 6 / 4.
I discovered padel directly during a tournament, and frankly, I didn't really like it at first. But the second time, it was love at first sight, and since then, I haven't missed a single match. I'm even ready to stay up until 3am to watch a final of Premier Padel !
